I am a worthless broken sinning undeserving... →
I often feel sorry for people who post things like this. I hate religion because it makes people believe they’re worthless. I hate religion because it causes people to attribute their successes to the nonexistent. It causes people to ignore their personal triumphs. It’s sad and I immediately call bullshit when I hear one of them attempting to argue that atheists are miserable,...

70% of Sunday news guests are Republicans →
86% are male, 92% are white. Between June 2011 and February of this year, 70 percent of all one-on-one interviewees on the four biggest political talk shows — NBC’s Meet the Press, ABC’s This Week, CBS’s Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday — were Republicans. The numbers were even more lopsided in favor of men and white guests: Coupled with the news that came out earlier this week that only 3%...

Panetta apologizes for photos, 'not who we are' →
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is apologizing for newly published photos depicting American soldiers posing with body parts of Afghans militants. After one picture? Sure, it’s not who we are. But after Abu Ghraib, setting a bunch of Qurans on fire, peeing on corpses and now posing with severed limbs? Maybe it is who we are.

Relax, Democrats, Nugent's just a rock 'n' roller →
Just like Common was “just a rapper,” right? Oh no, that was a national scandal. Imagine if Common, or any black rapper for that matter, threatened to kill Mitt Romney… the House would vote to reinstate segregation. But Nugent is no more a surrogate for Romney than the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. is for Obama. Just because someone with a microphone urges people to vote for a...

Ted Nugent threatened to kill President Obama...
…presumably by making him listen to Damn Yankees. Remember, Obama is evil for hosting Common at the White House, but Ted Nugent and Kid Rock endorsing Romney? A-okay.

Our study finds that the Sunday shows consulted political and media figures on climate change, but left scientists out of the discussion. Of those hosted or interviewed on climate change, 50% were political figures — including elected officials, strategists and advisers — 45% were media figures, and none were scientists. By comparison, 32% of those interviewed or quoted on the nightly news...

Prometheus News!
fuckyeahalien: Apparently there are going to be two cuts of Prometheus, a USA/North American cut, which will be PG-13 and a European cut, which will be 18 minutes longer and have a higher rating.  Now… these are just rumours. But 18 minutes is a hell of a lot to cut out of a film.  Thumbs fucking down.

Grindhouse
Just watched for the first time since I saw it (four times) in the theater. Finally got my wife to sit down for the full 3+ hour experience and thankfully, she really enjoyed it. Perhaps my personal favorite movie of the last decade.

Cabin in the Woods redux
After doing my usual ritual of checking the buzz on a movie after I see a movie (I try to avoid anything except unavoidable trailers before I see it), I can tell that Cabin in the Woods is going to suffer from what I call “Inception Syndrome.” Inception Syndrome is a condition where after I watch a movie that I really enjoy, I find that other people like it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more...

Republican War on Women
Suddenly, the Republican War on Women no longer matters because one person you’d never heard of before Wednesday said something kinda mean about Ann Romney. Typical media, playing right into Republican poutrage in order to not look biased, even though reality is biased. And I’m currently rolling my eyes at Obama’s comments yesterday, saying being a mom is “the most...

Some fans taking legal action against WWE
rilayo: wwemedia: Some fans who attended WrestleMania last Sunday are taking legal action against WWE after paying over $1000 dollars for seats close to the ring only to have their view obstructed by the giant palm trees WWE had constructed as part of the set.  Don’t blame ‘em, to be honest. Set was cool-looking, but not very functional for live viewing audiences. Not the first time...

The WWE Title needs The Rock →
I’ve seen more than a few folks on Twitter and other blogs respond to that with “Rock doesn’t need it,” “plenty of other guys deserve it more” and “it should be used to elevate new talent.” Sorry, but you can’t complain about titles being meaningless then turn around and say something like that. No, The Rock doesn’t “need”...
